Designed for audiophiles and cinephiles, the GeerFab Audio D.BOB is a digital breakout box that extracts the high-resolution audio from SACDs, Blu-ray, and DVD-based disks. The converter provides remarkable improvements in clarity, dynamics, focus, presence, definition, sound-staging, and more. A universal player with an HDMI output is required. Its HDMI pass-through allows for player menu settings and other video uses.

As long as your player has an HDMI output, which all current players do, the D.BOB allows you to connect its hi-res PCM and DSD64 audio stream to an external DAC. The D.BOB extracts DSD64 via the DoP (DSD over PCM) protocol and hi-res PCM up to 24-bit / 192 kHz through the S/PDIF coaxial and TOSLINK optical outputs to your (separately available) external DAC. The D.BOB is fully HDCP and copy-protection compliant. The unit includes a mini-USB port for firmware updates and ships with a IEC power cord.

Disc-Player Compatibility Note: The D.BOB only works with universal disc players with an HDMI output and only accepts HDMI signals. DAC Compatibility Note: The D.BOB works with most DACs. For DSD, the DAC must accept DoP via S/PDIF coaxial or TOSLINK.
A. Universal player must output DSD64 and up to 24/192 PCM via HDMI. If there is only one HDMI output, use the HDMI OUT on the D.BOB to send video to a monitor or TV.
B. External DAC must accept DSD via the DoP protocol through S/PDIF Coax (preferable) or Toslink inputs. The D.BOB does not have a USB output.
Please note that the D.BOB can be used to play Blu-ray Audio and movies with any Blu-ray player that has an HDMI out. The hi-res PCM is extracted by the D.BOB and sent to an external DAC.
